This has been a rough year to be a fan of the Pirates. Even more so than usual. Seeing the Altoona Curve win the Eastern League Championship for the first time would go a long ways towards writing a more optimistic ending for this season.

The Curve vs. the Thunder
In just a little while, I will be making the drive to Altoona to watch the Curve battle the Thunder. It is game two of a five-game series, and the Thunder narrowly took game one last night. This is no small feat, given that the Curve was facing off against Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte making a rehab stint.
